Stephen Sypherd

Stephen Sypherd serves as Managing Director and General Counsel at Future Standard and its investment adviser affiliates. In this role, he is responsible for legal and related compliance matters across Future Standard entities and investment funds. He also serves as an officer of the firm’s sponsored investment funds.

Prior to joining Future Standard, Mr. Sypherd served as an attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he practiced corporate and securities law. While at Skadden, he represented multinational public and private companies in a wide variety of matters including debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and compliance matters.

Mr. Sypherd received a BA, cum laude, from Villanova University and his JD, cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an executive editor of The Georgetown Law Journal. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Villanova University School of Law.

Mr. Sypherd is a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Villanova University and a steering committee member of the Philadelphia Fund Alliance, a charitable organization formed by members of the asset management industry in Philadelphia.
