FS Investments volunteers come out for MLK Day of Service

PHILADELPHIA, January 16, 2023 — Each year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is recognized across the nation as a reminder that Dr. King’s work requires an ongoing commitment from all of us. In doing so, we honor the life and work of Dr. King, a prolific figure of the last century, and a leader of the civil rights movement who dedicated his life to working for racial equality and the advancement of communities of color.

As we have for several years, the FS Foundation sponsored the 28th Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service at Girard College; Global Citizen was also a sponsor. Chairman and CEO Michael Forman took a moment to thank the 17 FS Investments’ volunteers and their family members for dedicating their holidays to positively impact our community.

FS Investments volunteers spent the morning working on the King Day of Service Signature Project, creating over 250 gun violence safety kits for those in need within the Greater Philadelphia Area. Each kit included gauze, tourniquets, scissors, gloves and bandages.

Michael Forman was also honored at the event as a co-chair along with Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Congressman Dwight Evans and other elected officials, area business and community leaders.
