FS MVP Private Markets Fund celebrates third anniversary with over $1 billion in assets

PHILADELPHIA, February 5, 2025 — FS Investments, a leading alternative investment manager, announced today that FS MVP Private Markets Fund (“the Fund”)—an evergreen private equity fund focused on private U.S. middle market companies—has reached its three-year anniversary.1

The Class I shares returned 10.49% in 2024 and 12.99% annually since inception in July 2021, outperforming the Russell 2000 and S&P 500 by 1,260 basis points and 193 basis points, respectively, per year as of December 31, 2024.2 Assets under management surpassed $1 billion in January, reflecting both the portfolio’s strong performance and the accelerating demand for the strategy.

The Fund’s performance has been driven by its focused strategy of investing in private U.S. middle market companies, primarily through direct equity investments and secondaries. Historically, the middle market has served as source of alpha in private equity as top-quartile middle market managers have outperformed large/mega cap managers by approximately 382 basis points annually.3

“We are pleased to deliver another year of strong performance for our shareholders, driven by our disciplined focus on private U.S. middle market companies,” said Brooks Lindberg, Managing Director at FS Investments and Portfolio Manager of the Fund. “Our relationships with the ‘MVP’ sponsors of the U.S. middle market provide a steady stream of high-quality investment opportunities and market insights, enhancing our underwriting process and increasing the potential to generate strong returns for our shareholders.”

“We believe the U.S. middle market provides a compelling opportunity to access the growth engine of the U.S. economy at attractive valuations compared to the broader public markets,” commented Dustin Ackerman, Senior Vice President at FS Investments and Co-Manager of the Fund. “In recent years, middle market companies have consistently outpaced public markets in revenue and margin growth, and the FS MVP Private Markets Fund offers investors access to leading middle market sponsors to capitalize on this growth opportunity.”

Past performance is not a guarantee of future success. Returns shown are as of December 31, 2024, the year-to-date, one-year, three-year and since inception returns for the Class I share were 10.49%, 10.49%, 9.93%, and 12.99%, respectively.
