PHILADELPHIA, October 11, 2024 – FS Investments, an $82 billion1 global alternative asset manager, today announced Venkat Kamath will join the firm as head of the firm’s new India office. Mr. Kamath will report into Chief Operating Officer Lisa Opoku.
FS Investments plans to officially open its India office in January 2025 in the Embassy TechVillage in Bengaluru, India. The firm anticipates hiring 60 data and engineering employees in this office within the first three years of operations. Mr. Kamath will be responsible for executing the strategic and operational functions of the India office and partnering with the firm’s business product teams to leverage technology to deliver world-class client experiences.

Mr. Kamath most recently served as Head of Technology – Wholesale and Commercial Banking at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he was responsible for running and building technology platforms and products to support wholesale and commercial banking. He has over twenty years of experience leading engineering and technology transformation initiatives at Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Barclays Capital.

Mr. Kamath received a B.E of Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
